South Eastern Counties Bull Terrier Club Open Show

A big thank you to the committee of the South Eastern Counties Bull Terrier Club for inviting me to judge its Open Show, it was a very enjoyable day at their great new venue. A big thank you to all the entries.

 

Special Beginners Dog (2 Entries, 0

Absent)

1. Dodds & Harper’s Olympusbulys Home Alone.

11 month, white Dog with red eye patch, well filled head, adequate profile, mouth correct. Good eye and expression, ears well placed. Big immature body, showing good bone. A little bit stuffy in the neck due to upright shoulders. Took time to settle, moved well both ways.

 2. Kirk’s Kerbullys Darkwood Fire.

Left the ring prior to critique.

 Puppy Dog (4 Entries, 1 Absent)

1. White’s Stockleyview Born to be King - Best Puppy Dog

7 month white dog with brindle eye patch. Head long and strong into nice reach of neck. Ears well placed. Mouth incorrect. Body yet to mature, although already carrying a strong frame, good topline and well set tail. Nice round bone with very nice tight feet. Movement very loose, to be expected of a such an immature dog.

 

2. Young’s Kilacabar Rock and Rolla.

8 month white dog. Real heavyweight. Well filled head with a good profile. Mouth level. Ears well placed. A powerful Dog carrying rather too much weight, which is detrimental to his outline. Upright shoulders into stuffy collar. Good bone. Feet untidy and at ten-to-two. Moves very wide in front with a slightly stifled gate.

 Junior Dog (2 Entries, 1 Absent)

1. Taylor’s Ragnarok Helmdallr.

Just over 12 months white dog. Powerful head with good expression and ears well placed, slightly broken profile. Mouth correct. Well made dog, long neck into nice level topline. Well placed shoulders, nice deep brisket and well  sprung ribs. Good bone, A little short in the fore-leg, lovely angulated hinds. Feet a little untidy. Moved a little wide in front, rear movement good.

Novice Dog (3 Entries, 0 Absent)

1. White’s Stockleyview Fantastica. - Best Dog, Reserve Best in Show and

Best Opposite Sex

16 month Brindle and white dog. A real ring presence showing lots of well controlled energy. Shown in very fit condition. Well marked, with a deep shinning coat. Well filled and turned head. Mouth correct. Small eye with

ears well placed. Straight front, deep brisket with well sprung ribs. Good

bone and length of leg. Moved with drive. Shown and handled well.

 2. Moore’s Bulldebbens Make My Day.

18 month white dog, strong head with correct mouth, ears well placed. Good, strong bone, well sprung ribs and straight front. A little stuffy in neck and feet rather untidy. Would benefit from better presentation in the show ring, not in great condition. Moved well when he got into his stride.

 Post Graduate Dog (5 Entries, 1 Absent)

1. O’Connell’s Ragnorok Gungnir at Koellen - Reserve Best Dog

18 month compact white dog with red eye marks. Strong well fi lled head. Mouth correct. Ears well placed with a wicked expression from his very keen eye. Showing good bone, nice length of leg and lovely tight feet. Good topline, very well muscled and in fit condition.

 2. Kirk’s Kerbullys Rising Son.

2 years old, very compact tri-colour dog, Head short, but well profiled with good fill, neat ears bang on top. Mouth incorrect. Very well made, nice topline, good spring of rib, adequate bone into well angulated hinds. A little out at the elbow and with untidy feet. Moved better going than coming.

1. Morgan’s Marshelsea Trouble Coming at Romagna.

2.5 year old, white dog with good head and strong profile. Mouth correct. Good reach of neck. Well sprung ribs with a nice deep chest, would have liked a little more bone. Slightly rising topline and high set tail. Moved well both ways, shown and handled well.

 2. Moody’s Kersharela Thundercloud at Odyom.

 3.5 year old, white dog. Strong well filled head, slightly broken profile. Mouth correct. Well constructed, upstanding dog with good bone. Elegant neck into nice bodylines. Straight front and lovely feet. In beautiful condition. Moved well both ways, shown and handled well.

1. Temple’s Bullbrazen Black Rose - Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy

10 month, brindle and white bitch. Strong head with gentle profile, nice powerful muzzle, lacks a little under jaw. Mouth correct. Ears well placed. Good reach of neck into level topline. Well sprung ribs and adequate bone.

 2. Westwood’s Tulsadoom Sinasina.

11 month white bitch. Nicely turned head, great in profile, a little narrow when viewed from the front. Large, low set ears. Mouth correct. Nice shapely body, showing good bone, well bent stifle. Moved well both ways.

1. Howes, Sheppard & Taylor’s Ragnarok Daralis with Polanca - Best Bitch and Best in Show

12 month, powerful brindle and white bitch. Strong head with sweeping profile, long, strong muzzle, head filled right up. neat ears set well on top. Mouth correct. Nice reach of neck into well made body. Strong round bone, down into beautiful cat-like feet. Straight front, deep fore chest and well set tail. Moved well when she finally settled.

1. O’Connell’s Elvroc Who Dares Wins at Koellen.

Powerful White bitch. Good head, adequate profile with a wicked expression. Ears well placed. Mouth Correct. Long reach of neck into well made body, nicely sprung ribs and beautiful feet. Moved a little wide in front.

 2. Shippam’s Kescostaff Wispa.

20 month, brindle and white bitch, well filled head with adequate profile. Ears bang on top. Mouth Correct. Good reach of neck into well constructed body. Well turned, powerful hinds. Shown in very fit condition. Moved a little loose in front. Shown and handled well.

 Limit Bitch (7 Entries, 3 Absent)

1. Taylor’s Bullywood Avenging Star to Ragnarok.

16 month, refined white bitch. Gentle profile, wicked expression. Mouth correct. Well made body, good length of leg with adequate bone. Level topline, well set tail, well sprung ribs and good angulation. Feet a little untidy. Moved well both ways.

2. Newberry’s Kenine Sweet by Nature at Ukusa.

22 month, compact Tri-colour bitch. Mouth Correct. Gentle profile, small eye with well placed ears. Very well made bitch with lovely straight front. Adequate bone. Well turned hinds beneath a nice level topline. Moved well both ways.

 Open Bitch (1 Entry, 0 Absent)
